C700 Mussel cleaning installation

The C700 Mussel cleaning installation is designed to declump and sort mussels. Also, the byssus threads of the mussels will be removed.

The installation is made up of components listed below, but all components are also available as stand alone machines or in combination with other processing machines.

  • DC700       Declumping machine
  • SV700B     Sorting machine
  • DB700       Debyssing machine
  • WS220       Dirt separator and water circulation system
  • SB700        Electrical cabinet

The mussels, whether or not clumped, are fed to the Declumping machine at the top of the installation. In the Declumping machine the mussel bunches are separated by brushes. Via the underside of the Declumping machine the separated mussels and the waste come on the Sorting machine. On the Sorting machine, the consumption mussels are separated from the waste by means of sorting rollers. The sorted mussels then slip on the Debyssing machine. The debyssing is done by means of rotating profiled axes in opposite directions. The byssus threads are grabbed by the profiled shafts and pulled out of the mussels. The cleaned mussels are discharged on the front of the Debyssing machine, the byssus threads and other waste through the underside.

Thanks to its compact construction, complete setup and efficient operation, this installation can be used anywhere.
