The UV50 Portable UV set is designed to kill bacteria and viruses in water using ultraviolet light (UV). Ultraviolet light is electromagnetic radiation just outside the part of the spectrum that is perceived by the human eye. The wavelength of UV light is 1 to 400 nanometers. For disinfection a wavelength of up to 280 nanometers is used, also called UV-C light. The principle of UV-C disinfection is based on absorption of UVC radiation by the DNA and the RNA of microorganisms. As a result, the DNA and the RNA are damaged, so that the microorganisms can not reproduce.
The UV50 Portable UV set includes an input and output connector for connecting the set. The water to be disinfected is led and disinfected in the UV set along the UV source.
